How It Works

The dehazing process follows a structured two-stage pipeline that effectively removes haze while preserving image quality:

  1. Global Context Modeling: A transformer backbone analyzes the entire scene to estimate and subtract the haze layer, producing a clean, balanced reconstruction.
  2. Multi-Curve Translator (MCT) for High-Resolution Inputs: For large images, the MCT variant splits the input into smaller segments, processes them sequentially, and stitches them back together - reducing memory usage while maintaining uniform results.

Trained on a mixed dataset of synthetic and real hazy images, the model generalizes well across landscapes, cities, and low-visibility outdoor scenes. It produces dehazed results in a single, efficient forward pass.
